North Dakotans to Stop Animal Cruelty
North Dakota has a proud tradition of working with animals in farming, ranching, and other practices, yet North Dakota laws have not kept pace with the times. North Dakota has one of the weakest animal cruelty laws in the nation – one of only three states that punishes even the most extreme forms of animal cruelty as a mere misdemeanor. This ballot measure would make the most extreme forms of cruelty a felony when inflicted upon a dog, cat or horse.
